South America (CONMEBOL)
CONMEBOL's qualifying format for the 2026 World Cup remains unchanged, with all 10 teams scheduled to play each other twice.
The qualifying round began in September 2023 and is expected to conclude in September 2025.
Europe (UEFA)
Schedule and Format
The European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup will begin in March or June 2025, depending on the ranking of the participating teams.
Teams will be drawn into five groups of five, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the second round.
The third-placed teams in each group will participate in a play-off round to determine the remaining European qualifiers.
North America, Central America, and the Caribbean (CONCACAF)
Qualification Format
Four CONCACAF teams ranked 29th to 32nd in the FIFA Men's Ranking will participate in a preliminary round.
The two winners of the preliminary round will advance to the second round, which will feature 20 CONCACAF teams.
Asia (AFC)
Second Round Groups
Group A: Qatar, India, Afghanistan
Group B: Jordan, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka
The top two teams from each group will advance to the third round.
