Spencer Horwitz Absence from Blue Jays' Lineup
Horwitz Out Due to Wrist Injury
Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Spencer Horwitz was not included in the lineup against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday.
Horwitz is dealing with a sore left wrist, according to manager Charlie Montoyo.
MRI Reveals No Fracture
An MRI revealed no fracture, but Horwitz is still experiencing pain.
Montoyo said Horwitz is day-to-day and could return to the lineup as early as Wednesday.
Hitting Struggles Preceding Injury
Horwitz has been struggling at the plate lately, batting .182 with no home runs and four RBIs in 11 games this season.
The 27-year-old is expected to be a key part of the Blue Jays' offense this season, so his absence will be a blow to the team.
Blue Jays Call Up Noelvi Marte
To replace Horwitz, the Blue Jays have called up infielder Noelvi Marte from Triple-A Buffalo.
Marte, 21, is considered one of the Blue Jays' top prospects and is expected to make his Major League debut on Tuesday.
